Pain Relief - Clinical Uses
Opportunities abound for the clinical use of LED Light Therapy. Symptomatic pain associated with neuropathy; chronic pain; arthritis; plantar fasciitis; back, neck, and joint pain; and many other conditions respond quickly to LED Light Therapy. With as little as 20 minutes of therapy, your patient could have a pain and medication-free day and improved quality of life.
Our light therapy systems use wavelengths of light energy that dramatically increase circulation to injury sites and areas of chronic pain. The light is delivered to the site through LED pads placed directly on the skin. The result is a rapid relief of discomfort, improvement in sensation, and regeneration of damaged tissue.
Light Therapy doesn’t just numb the pain. The release of Nitric Oxide increases circulation getting oxygen to the nerves and stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
LED Light Therapy has been shown to:
- Increase circulation by increasing the formation of new capillaries, which speed up the healing process.
- Stimulate the production of collagen, the most common protein found in the body and essential for repairing damaged tissue.
- Stimulate the release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a major carrier of energy to all cells.
- Reduce swelling by increasing lymphatic system activity.
- Stimulate healing of wounds and inflammation by increasing circulation in the tissues and connective tissues.
Neurocare Systems can also be used to relieve pain associated with chronic pain conditions such as low back pain; neck pain; arthritis; bruises; burns; wrist pain (carpal tunnel); leg pain; sprains; tennis elbow; and tight muscles.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Concussion, Stroke & PTSD
Studies at Harvard have shown that low-level LED Light Therapy has the unique ability to improve brain circulation in hard-to-reach areas of the brain. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): When normal brain circulation is restored, symptoms of PTSD are often lessened. Many of our red and near infrared therapy pads can be used for therapy on the head and brain. A bonus is that the same pads can be used for pain relief and circulation support anywhere on the body.
Peripheral Neuropathy is a nervous system disorder that shows up as numbness, tingling, stinging, sensitivity and pain in the hands and feet. Neuropathy has many causes but poor circulation is a common factor. LED Light Therapy can increase blood flow to tissues promoting the body's ability to heal damaged nerves and often relieving symptoms of Peripheral Neuropathy caused by poor circulation. Our convertible Boot 122 pad is frequently used for relief of the symptomatic pain of neuropathy.
Neurocare Systems are FDA-cleared to increase circulation and reduce pain associated with arthritis. Therapy helps reduce inflammation, stiffness and other symptoms associated with Arthritis. Infrared and red LED light therapy activates cellular activity to naturally reduce joint pain and swelling. Many of our red and near infrared pads can be effectively used for arthritis pain.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Neurocare Systems are FDA cleared to reduce pain associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. This common nerve disorder causes numbness, weakness, and pain in the wrists and hands. Poor circulation can be a contributing factor in Carpal Tunnel and LED light therapy can increase local circulation in the wrist and hand helping to stimulate healing in nerve cells promoting pain relief.
Light Therapy can help relieve stiffness, tight muscles, soreness and joint inflammation in the knees, hips, ankles and feet. It is used for a range of painful acute and chronic conditions. Light therapy can often help address the cause of pain and help the body heal over time.
Most people experiences some form of Back Pain from time to time. Increased circulation from photobiomodulation can reduce pain and inflammation associated with back pain while stimulating the body’s own healing processes. Our large Body 264 pad is a good choice for back pain relief.
LED Light Therapy treats neck pain by increasing circulation and reducing inflammation. Light Therapy helps relax tight muscles and stiffness and relieve soreness and pain in the neck.
Shoulder Pain and tight upper back muscles are common from many activities including prolonged hours at a desk. Our large Body 264 pad can be wrapped over the shoulder to increase circulation to areas of inflammation and naturally reduce shoulder pain and aid mobility.
Low-level Light Therapy can reduce pain and help prevent infections resulting from burns and other skin irritations. Light therapy may also reduce scarring during the healing process. Blue and infrared light are often used for skin and wound healing. Research studies have shown that blue light may have antibacterial properties. Red light also supports healing in all layers of the skin. Both wavelengths are also used in aesthetic applications because of their ability to help rejuvenate the skin.

Why should you invest in LED Therapy?
Effective, Safe, Non-invasive
All systems contain powerful Superluminous Light Emitting Diodes (SLEDs)
Neurocare Systems LED Light Therapy is state-of-the-art technology that delivers timed sequences of frequency (pulses) which may support the body's ability to create positive celllular change at a faster rate. This photo-biomodulation therapy device with blue, red and infrared light provides safe but powerful non-coherent light.
